About Dylan Torres
My name is Dylan Torres (He/Him pronouns). I'm a student working towards an undergraduate degree in Digital Media.
Previously enrolled at Long Island University in New York State from 2020 to 2021, I eventually transferred to University of Central Florida in the Fall 2022 semester.
Currently, I'm majoring in Digital Media, studying on the Game Design track with an expected graduation date of Spring 2025. While some of my projects are yet to be released, I have experience with game development through university studies and working in college-affiliated Game Jams.
Throughout my studies, I've learned how to create game projects in Unity and have built knowledge of C# coding over 4 years. I've also learned some basic workflows of coding with Blueprints in Unreal Engine 5, usage of game development tools such as Adam Le Doux's Bitsy, 3D modeling in Autodesk Maya, as well as texturing and baking 3D models using ZBrush.
While I am a Combat Design specialist first and foremost, I have implemented many other systems that may tie indirectly to combat systems or have no ties to combat and may be useful for other aspects of games.
In regards to my interests, I’ve always had a natural fondness for video games. In particular, my favorite genre is the fighting game. These games, in addition to a childhood martial arts background in American Kenpo, have influenced me to specialize in developing combat systems across all types of gaming genres. Of course, any type of interactive game holds my love and respect, but it’s been a long-standing dream of mine to someday create fighting games of my own. Surely, I aim to populate this website with them in the years to come, but please be on the lookout for any and all productions I pour my spirit into!
